Have you sailed on the smallest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet, Grandeur of the Seas?
Grandeur of the Seas has a fascinating history - it was ordered in 1992 and constructed in Finland between 1995 and 1996. Since then, it has been providing incredible cruising experiences to passengers since late 1996. To keep up with the times, this magnificent Vision-class cruise ship underwent an extensive $48 million refurbishment in Spain back in 2012, which lasted for a remarkable five weeks. This upgrade brought the ship up to more recent standards, ensuring that passengers continue to enjoy top-quality amenities and features.
Get ready to set sail on an unforgettable adventure with the Grandeur of the Seas! As the smallest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet, this classic 20th century cruise ship has been meticulously updated and maintained to provide an exceptional cruising experience. From the moment you step aboard, you'll be enchanted by the ship's charm and attention to detail.
The deck plan is thoughtfully designed to flow smoothly, with a focus on the multi-deck Centrum. This dynamic hub is the heart of the ship, offering a variety of activities throughout the day and evening. Whether you're looking to dance the night away, enjoy live music, or participate in a game, the Centrum has it all. Plus, with easy access to Guest Services and Café Latte-tudes, you'll have everything you need at your fingertips.
One of the standout features of the Grandeur of the Seas is the exceptional dining options. From the main dining room to the included and for-fee specialty restaurants, there's something for everyone. We were blown away by the service and execution of the menu in the main dining room - it surpassed even larger ships! And for an extra special experience, we highly recommend checking out Chops Grille.
While the ship may lack some of the extravagant and flashy top-deck attractions found on larger ships, there's still plenty of space to soak up the sun and enjoy the pool. Plus, with an adults-only Solarium pool and hot tubs, you can relax and unwind in peace. And don't worry about the kids - there's still plenty for them to do onboard.
If you're looking for an economical option for cruising the Caribbean, the Grandeur of the Seas is the perfect choice. With a range of cabin options, from interior to oceanview to balcony, there's something for every budget.
Which stateroom is the right fit for you? While the decor throughout all of the options may be slightly outdated, as it dates back to the early 2010s with nautical hotel decor featuring lots of blue and green fabric, contemporary art-style carpets, and light-hued wood, you'll find that the staterooms are spacious.
Interior staterooms provide ample space for two travelers and can accommodate up to four, thanks to pull-out beds, sofa beds, and connecting cabins.
The ocean-view staterooms offer even more space, including a sitting area and expansive, circular windows that provide stunning ocean views from the comfort of your bed. These staterooms are ideal for two passengers but can also comfortably accommodate groups of three or four.
One of our favorite things about the Grandeur of the Seas was the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The smaller size of the ship makes it easy to get to know other passengers and the crew. And if you're a casino player, you'll love the intimate atmosphere of the ship's casino.
All in all, we highly recommend the Grandeur of the Seas for both new and seasoned cruisers looking for a simplified, low-cost option for cruising the Caribbean. Don't miss your chance to sail on this classic and charming ship!
